Our University’s delegation Visited Partner Universities of South Africa, Lesotho and Zambia for International Students Enrollment Promotion

From April 19th to April 29th,the university’s delegationvisited South Africa, Lesotho and Zambia to promote the international students’ enrollment to further enhance university internationalization and enlargeinternational studentsscale. The delegation led by the Director of International Cooperation and Exchanges office, Ms. Wei Xiaoming visited South Africa Cape Peninsula University of Science and Technology, Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheriesin South Africa(DAFF), Lesotho National University and the University of Zambia to promote the international students enrollment.

During the visit, the delegation received warm reception from all higher institutions. The delegation has a full discussion with South Africa Cape Peninsula University of Science And Technology; the two parties expect to have cooperation on high-level personnel training as soon as possible. During the visit in South Africa, the delegation also met with the deputy director general of Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheriesin South Africa. In2017, DAFF has 22 students to apply to study in our university. The two sides also held concrete consultations on short-term training programs.

During the visit to Lesotho, the delegation met the vice chancellor of the National University of Lesotho. The vice chancellor supportedstudentsand teachersexchange and scientific research cooperationbetween the two universities, and signed the cooperation memorandum of understanding between Jilin Agricultural University and National University of Lesotho. The delegation also received warm reception from the Chinese embassy in Lesotho and Deputy Minister of Education of Lesotho, and was invited to attend the inauguration ceremony of Confuciusclassroom in MachabengCollege.

During the visit in Zambia, the delegation metthe Vice-chancellor of the university of Zambia, and deanof Agronomy and had practical in-depth exchanges. The two sides fully exchanged views on exchanging young teachers and providingtalent support and assurance for China-aid Agricultural Technology Demonstration Centers.

The visit of the delegation further consolidated and strengthened the friendly relations and cooperation with African higher institutionsand expand the channels of international student recruitment.
